Finished the sanding on Vermin...WHICH TOOK 12 HOURS!
Not complaining, just amazed. He looks lovely, BTW. This hobby is turning out o be everything I wanted. Hard labor, intense budget sacrifices and hard core prop building. I love it!
I'm starting to get brave enough to consider casting some pieces of my boys to use in a strictly personal way.
Ryo does need hands molded to hold his sword, and Vermin is the perfect candidate for some doll-sized zombie pieces. Too many hobbies, so little time.

As far as paying gigs go, I got a decent contract to do some FX pieces and spent the better part of today casting shiz in plaster and coating crap in alginate until it looks like sloppy vomit. Our 'test piece' is going to be a latex prosthetic that covers the lower half of my face in twisted flesh. I'm in the middle of sculpting it now and will post pics when I'm done!
All I have to do now is convince the company to shell out for silicon instead of Hydrocal since they want to pull 1-2 casts of of the mold every day for 9 weeks. I think it'll have a more reliable life-span that way. even though it costs more $$.
